Silage inoculants to improve nutrient and dry matter protection

We know that silage-making is at the core of what you do. However, not all the silage produced will make it to the feed passage. From fresh crop to harvest and through storage, feed value drops, and the physical quantity also drops — by as much as 25%! This can hurt animal performance and increase your feed costs.

Egalis is a new range of high-quality silage inoculants from Alltech that improves the preservation of nutrients in silage and reduces dry matter loss. This means you have more and better silage and fewer concerns about wasting feed.

Through improved nutrient and dry matter protection, Egalis leads to improved animal performance.

The Egalis range of silage inoculants

Egalis controls and drives silage fermentation through the use of highly efficient homolactic bacteria and solutions that inhibit fungal growth.

Product Benefits

 Egalis® Ferment

Egalis Ferment is a high-quality silage inoculant from Alltech, suitable for use on all forages. It is comprised of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and Pediococcus pentosaceus, which work synergistically to rapidly lower pH to the required final level irrespective of the dry matter or the buffering capacity of the forage.

  • Improves nutrient protection

  • Reduces dry matter loss

  • Yields more and better silage

  • Improves animal performance

  • Increases milk yield

 Egalis® Rapid

Suitable for use in preparing all types of maize and sorghum silage, Egalis Rapid is powered by Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus and Pediococcus pentosaceus, which work in synergy to rapidly and efficiently drive fermentation to a stable final pH, predominantly through the production of L-lactic acid.

  • Improves nutrient protection

  • Reduces dry matter loss

  • Improves animal performance

  • Increases milk yield

 Egalis® Stability

Suitable for use on all forages, Egalis Stability helps you protect and preserve your silage. Potassium sorbate rapidly kills yeasts and moulds, whilst Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and Pediococcus pentosaceus work synergistically to quickly lower pH to the required final level, irrespective of the dry matter or the buffering capacity of the forage.
